Rolex Sky-Dweller 326934 – Blue Dial
Despite its incredibly handsome looks, the Sky-Dweller previously got overlooked quite a bit. However, these days, this beautiful and technically-complex watch is becoming more and more popular among collectors. Due to its construction of largely 904L stainless steel with an 18k white gold bezel, the ref. 326934 Sky-Dweller is significantly more practical (and affordable) than its solid-gold siblings, yet still decidedly elevated.
This watch also boasts a wide range of complications that make it fun to wear and show off, including its GMT capabilities and the unique way that it displays the month for its annual calendar complication with small windows placed on the outer edge of all twelve hour markers. While the Sky-Dweller 326934 is available with a few different dial colors, it is the blue version that is a popular favorite for collectors and that ultimately wins a spot on our list.
Rolex Explorer II 216570 – Polar Dial
Why not slide into summer with a white-hot ‘Polar’ Explorer II? The famous stark white dial, contrasted against black-outlined white (luminous) hour markers is beloved for its handsomely minimalistic look. While the Explorer II collection took many of its styling cues from the GMT-Master II range for a number of years, this generation represents a more significant departure, and features design details that aren’t found on any other Rolex watches for sale in the brand’s current catalog.
We can’t get enough of this modern iteration, featuring upgrades like a bright orange 24-hour GMT hand, a larger ‘Maxi’ dial, and a new bracelet featuring completely solid links and a redesigned clasp. This is a great way to get a modern Polar Explorer II without having to go the retail route and put your name on a long waiting list.
Rolex Datejust 116234 – Black Dial
We love this Datejust ref. 116234 for a few reasons. First and foremost, it’s a Datejust, which means that it is going to be the perfect, versatile companion for any collector. Strap this watch on for either a romantic dinner date or a meeting with the executives, and it’s going to seamlessly transition between both, while still offering you 100 meters of water resistance
However, this Datejust has a couple more unique features that make it feel special. Not only is its fluted bezel crafted from 18k white gold, but its black dial with a railroad minute track and a roulette date wheel help set it apart from other Rolex Datejust watches. It’s the type of watch you can wear all-day, every-day that happens to be just enough to start a conversation without being flashy.
Rolex GMT-Master II 16710 – Pepsi Bezel
The ‘Pepsi’ GMT Master II is one of the most popular Rolex watches for sale in the brand’s entire catalog. With that red and blue bezel, it’s easy to see why, isn’t it? This unique design feature first appeared in the mid 1950s, and has since defined an entire genre of multi-timezone pilots watches.
The ref. 16710 is also special because it was the last GMT-Master II to be fitted with an aluminum bezel insert, which was later replaced by ceramic, aka ‘Cerachrom’ on all subsequent references. If you ever wanted a Rolex President without breaking the bank, the secondary market is by far the best way to go about getting your hands on one. With the introduction of the ref. 18238, the Rolex Day-Date gained its now-standard Double Quickset functionality, making watches from this generation some of the best values for the money when it comes to Rolex watches for sale on the pre-owned market.
To make this iconic watch even more luxurious, Rolex outfitted it with diamond hour markers. Normally at retail, diamond Rolex dials are accompanied by a steep price premium; however on the pre-owned market, you can often secure yourself a diamond dial for only a slight step up in price over an otherwise comparable model. If you’re going to go for an all-gold watch, you might as well go all out – and this Rolex President is one of the most cost-effective ways of doing it!
